Centinel Spine surpasses 7,500 US disc replacements: 5 notes

Spinal Tech

More than 7,500 cases have been completed with Centinel Spine's Prodisc C Vivo and Prodisc C SK implants in the U.S. since 2022, according to a Sept. 26 news release.

Five things to know:

1. The devices were launched in the U.S. in September 2022, and more than half of the completed cases happened in the last nine months.

2. In the first half of 2024, C Vivo and C SK cases increased more than 91% year over year.

3. Nearly 800 spine surgeons in the U.S. are using Centinel Spine's disc replacement implants, and about 75% are repeat users.

4. "This milestone demonstrates the significance of providing anatomic choice to the spine surgeon," Centinel Spine CEO Steve Murray said in the release. "Similar to what's evolved in hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement surgery, spine surgeons are increasingly choosing proven, safe, effective, durable, and anatomically differentiated implants for their patients."

5. Globally Centinel Spine total disc replacement implants have been used in more than 250,000 cases.
