2 CEO moves, promising spinal cord stimulation data & more: 8 device company notes

Augmedics' new CEO and seven more updates from spine and orthopedic device companies in the last week:

1. Paragon 28, a foot and ankle devicemaker, acquired software company Disior.2

2. Medtronic's spinal cord stimulation therapy system showed meaningful pain relief results in a three-month study.

3. Surgalign Holdings received FDA 510(k) clearance for its Holo Portal surgical system for lumbar spine surgeries.

4. Catalyst OrthoScience, a medtech company focused on the upper extremity orthopedics market, appointed Carl O'Connell president and CEO.

5. Augmedics, which develops the Xvision augmented reality surgical system, named Kevin Hykes president and CEO.

6. Vuze Medical's proprietary software-only guidance system received FDA 510(k) clearance.

7. Hip Innovation Technology received FDA approval to start a clinical study examining its reverse hip replacement system.

8. Devicemaker Genesys Spine reported 184 percent year-over-year revenue growth in its sacroiliac joint division in 2021.
