Two orthopedic devices debut, and three more updates from spine and orthopedic medtech companies in the last week:
1. Forbes released its 2022 list of America's best large employers Feb. 10 and recognized four medical device companies.
2. The first cases with Implanet's Jazz posterior fixation system were completed.
3. Ran Schwarzkopf, MD, of New York City-based NYU Langone Health, completed the first case with Smith+Nephew's Journey II medial dished knee replacement system.
4. DePuy Synthes, the orthopedic arm of Johnson & Johnson, acquired CrossRoads Extremity Systems.
5. France-based devicemaker Companion Spine raised $55 million in series A funding and plans to launch two products in the U.S. in 2023.
