CTL Amedica's honor and four more updates from spine companies in the last week:

1. Premia Spine's Tops spinal arthroplasty system was found to be more cost-effective than a transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, according to a study published in the Journal of Health Economics and Outcomes Research.

2. CTL Amedica Chief Technology Officer Sean Suh was included on Spinemarket's top spine inventor list for the sixth year in a row.

3. Intelligent Implants added Andy Forsberg as senior vice president of product development.

4. SMAIO received FDA clearance for the Balance Analyzer 3D planning software for spine realignment.

5. Aurora Spine received FDA clearance for its Dexa Solo-LTM anterior lumbar fusion device on the heels of record first-quarter sales.
