Hartford Conn.-based UConn Health implemented Augmedics' Xvision in June and now all six of its spine surgeons are using the augmented reality surgical system, Fox 61 reported Sept. 23.
Xvision uses AR to help with more precise navigation of instruments and implants. More than 2,000 cases have been performed by surgeons altogether.
UConn Health's spine surgeons who are trained to use Xvision are: Hardeep Singh, MD; Hilary Onyiuke, MD; Ian McNeill, MD; Isaac Moss, MD; Scott Mallozzi, MD; and Ketan Bulsara, MD.
In mid-September, Augmedics' founder and former CEO left the company after "significant changes in the company and disagreements with the new management and board."
