Jupiter, Fla.-based Captiva Spine has partnered with Taiwanese robotics and navigation company Remex Medical to improve future developments in spine navigation and practical robotic solutions.
Captiva Spine hopes to increase access to navigation and surgical robots for spinal applications in underserved hospitals and ASCs nationwide.
The partnership has produced a 510(k)-cleared small, on-site navigation unit that offers surgeons the option to preplan and visualize their surgical approach.
"This platform for navigation helps fulfill our commitment to being a clinical and economical solution with advanced enabling technology for spine care," Dale Mitchell, president of Captiva Spine, said in an Oct. 10 press release. "We plan to have a technically advanced navigation platform to improve spine procedural efficiency and be economically feasible for the growing number of ASCs and specialty hospitals throughout the United States."
