Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Paul Marcotte of Penn Medicine

Paul Marcotte, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Penn Neurosurgery, and he serves as an associate professor of neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is a member of American College of Surgeons, College of Physicians & Surgeons in Canada and Congress of Neurological Surgeons.

Dr. Marcotte has a professional interest in complex spinal surgery, failed back surgery
herniated disc, lumbar disc surgery, microendoscopic herniated disc surgery, spinal deformity surgery, spine stabilization and spine tumors. His work has been widely published in professional journals, including Spine, Journal of Neurosurgery: Spine and Journal of Spinal Disorders & Techniques.

 

Dr. Marcotte earned his medical degree at University of Ottawa in Canada and completed his residency at Ottawa Teaching Hospitals. He has also completed a fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.
