Alan S. Hilibrand, MD, has been elected chair of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Communications Cabinet.
The AAOS Communications Cabinet promotes musculoskeletal health, injury prevention and the orthopedic specialty through media relations and internal and external communications.
Dr. Hilibrand is a professor of orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery as well as the director of medical education for the orthopedic surgery department at the Rothman Institute and Jefferson Medical College, both located in Philadelphia. He focuses on the surgical and non-surgical care of the spine and has completed a spine and spinal cord injury fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
