Dymicron, a device company developing a cervical artificial disc, has appointed Armen Khachatryan, MD, to its board of directors, it said Nov. 10.
Four things to know:
1. Dr. Khachatryan specializes in minimally invasive microsurgery and cervical and lumbar spinal disease. His clinical practice focuses on motion preservation technology, artificial disc replacement and nonfusion technologies.
2. He is founder of Disc Replacement Center in Salt Lake City and co-founder of the Masson Spine Institute Outpatient Center of Excellence in Park City, Utah.
3. Dr. Khachatryan was among the first spine surgeons in Utah to implant artificial discs in the lumbar and cervical spine.
4. Dymicron is preparing Triadyme-C, its cervical artificial disc consisting of polycrystalline diamond, for FDA clinical trials and commercialization in select European countries.
