The University of Interscholastic League in Austin, Texas, unanimously approved new guidelines for athletes with concussions, according to a KBTX report.
The previous UIL guidelines allowed an athlete who felt recovered from concussion symptoms to return to play within 15 minutes of the injury. The new guideline suggests athletes not return to play for the entire day after receiving a concussion.
