Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center was the first medical center in the U.S. to use Think Surgical's TSolution One Total Knee Application, performing a procedure on a 64-year-old woman Feb. 10.

The FDA approved the surgical robot in October 2019, and Hackensack purchased it shortly after in January. The robot features a 3D presurgical planning workstation and computer-assisted tool to help execute the procedure.

Yair David Kissin, MD, performed the procedure. He is one of the surgeons who participated in the platform's investigational clinical trial.
