Dalton, Ga.-based Hamilton Medical Center started using Stryker's Mako robot, according to a Feb. 8 announcement.
The hospital is using Stryker's Mako robot in total hip and total knee replacements. It's the only hospital in northwest Georgia to adopt the technology.
The robot uses CT-based 3D modeling of bone anatomy to create a custom surgery plan for patients. During surgery, it allows surgeons to virtually modify the surgical plan.
