West Boca Medical Center is the first hospital in Boca Raton, Fla., to feature the CORI Surgical System for knee replacement surgery, according to an Oct. 29 report in South Florida Hospital News.
The system uses handheld robotic-assisted technology and gives surgeons a three-dimensional view of the operation site without MRI or a CT scan. David Padden, MD, was the first surgeon at the hospital to use the system in surgery, according to the report.
"Patients can be assured this new technology allows us to have access to some of the newest surgical services right here in Palm Beach County," Dr. Padden said, according to the report.
