Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, N.J., added Globus Medical's Excelsius GPS robot for spine surgery, the hospital said Nov. 14.
Rafael Levin, MD, and Evan Baird, MD, completed the first cases using the robot Oct. 19, according to a news release. Excelsius GPS combines a robotic arm with full navigation capabilities for trajectory alignment in spine surgery. It's designed to let surgeons operate with smaller incisions and greater reach.
Pascack Valley Medical Center’s robot roster includes Mako, Senhance and da Vinci, all of which Pascack surgeons use in knee and hip replacement, gynecology, bariatric, spine and general surgeries.
