Jersey City Medical Center adds spine robot

Robotics

Jersey City (N.J.) Medical Center added the ExcelsiusGPS spine robot, according to an Oct. 27 announcement in TapInto.net.

This adds to the hospital's orthopedic robot arsenal, which includes the Mako knee robot. ExcelsiusGPS assists with spine navigation during procedures.

"Thanks to this new, minimally invasive robotic technology, complex spine procedures can be performed through small incisions with increased accuracy, shortening hospital stays and helping our patients get on the road to recovery faster," Michael Dinizo, MD, a spine surgeon with the hospital, said in the release.
