Fisherville, Va.-based Augusta Health has added Zimmer Biomet's Rosa knee system for joint replacements.
In November, Augusta earned an advanced hip and knee replacement certification from DNV and is now looking to expand its robotic capabilities.
Shenandoah Valley Orthopedics and Sports Medicine surgeon G. Ryan Rieser, MD, will lead the use of the robot at Augusta, according to a Jan. 18 press release.
The robot offers physicians more precision and flexibility during procedures. It also offers patients reduced scarring, minimal blood loss, less postoperative pain and shorter hospital stays.
