Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (N.J.) added the ExcelsiusGPS robot for spine surgery, the health system said Feb. 2.
The robot is used for minimally invasive spine surgery and aims for improved precision and faster recovery times for patients.
"Robotic-assisted surgical technologies have enhanced our abilities to perform minimally invasive surgeries, leading to excellent surgical results for our patients," Jose Canseco, MD, PhD, said in a news release. "Thanks to these innovations, patients experience decreased pain and can return to their daily routines with few complications."
