Surgeons at Froedtert South in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., have added Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS spine robot.
The first operation was led by surgeon Syed Mehdi, MD, and his team. Dr. Mehdi used the ExcelsiusGPS to robotically place Creo MIS screws at L3-L4 and navigate placement of the Elsa expandable lateral interbody spacer, according to a Feb. 14 LinkedIn post from Globus.
The Excelsius system streamlines the surgical workflow, reduces radiation exposure and allows for smaller incisions, less tissue damage, quicker recovery and less postoperative pain.
