Alphatec's Remi spine robot has grown in recent years and is under new ownership.
Five notes:
1. The Remi robot was acquired from Accelus in 2023 for $55 million. Accelus previously owned the robot through its subsidiary, Fusion Robotics.
2. Remi uses navigation and robotics with 3D imaging scans or 2D fluoroscopic imaging.
3. Tien Le, MD, performed a first-of-its-kind spine procedure integrating Accelus' Remi robotic navigation system, Linesider pedicle screw system and FlareHawk expandable interbody fusion device in 2022.
4. Remi was cleared for use with GE OEC 9900 C-Arm fluoroscopic imaging systems and three 3D imaging systems in recent years.
5. Alphatec plans to incorporate Remi into its procedural strategy to improve surgical predictability, limit radiation and enhance surgical precision.
