Think Surgical's robot approved for Zimmer Biomet knee implants

Robotics

Think Surgical's TMini robot was FDA cleared for use with Zimmer Biomet's Persona knee replacement system.

Persona will be available on an exclusive version of the TMini system, according to a Sept. 5 news release. Think Surgical's robot is wireless and ergonomic. It uses CT-based 3D scans to help plan procedures, and the robot compensates for surgeon hand movement to find bone pins, according to Think Surgical's website.

Zimmer Biomet partnered with Think Surgical in June for a distribution deal with the robot.
