Think Surgical's upgraded TMini robot, version 1.1, was used in its first total knee replacement since earning FDA clearance, the company said Sept. 10.
Alexander Sah, MD, performed the debut case at Washington Outpatient Surgery Center in Fremont, Calif. The new version of the robot enables positional refinement and optimization of the implant custom to the patient's needs.
"The added ability to objectively assess soft-tissue balance and make adjustments intraoperatively, combined with the small form factor, makes it the ideal option for robotics in the outpatient setting," Dr. Sah said in the release.
