North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, La., added Globus Medical's Excelsius3D imaging and ExcelsiusGPS robot.
Neurosurgeon Edward Burkhardt, MD, is trained to use the systems, which are designed for increased precision, less radiation and quicker recovery times for spine patients, according to an Oct. 28 news release.
"With robotic technology, we're increasing accuracy for placement of spinal implants like screws and rods, enhancing success rates and reducing risk for complications," Dr. Burkhardt said in the release.
