The Defense Logistics Agency awarded veteran-owned company Fidelis Sustainability Distribution its medical equipment electronic catalog contract valued at up to $45 million over five years.
The ECAT contract, a preferred purchasing system for the Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs facilities, is an online source for robotic-assisted surgery and other surgical products.
Fidelis is working with device company Synaptive Medical to provide ECAT customers with Modus V, a robotic digital microscope designed for spine and neurosurgery. The exoscope attaches to a robotic arm and tracks surgical instruments while displaying HD images on a monitor.
"Fidelis has proven to be a valuable partner and allowing the purchase of Modus V to be simplified to our U.S. government customers is just another example," Marc Buntaine, CEO of Synaptive Medical, said in a Jan. 12 news release.
