Zimmer Biomet's Rosa Hip System has been approved for robot-assisted direct anterior total hip replacements, according to an Aug. 18 news release.

Rosa Hip assists surgeons with preparation, positioning and component impaction during surgery. It's a fluoroscopy-based tool for surgeons using the minimally invasive, direct anterior approach to hip replacement surgery and is compatible with several implant systems.

"As an integrated component of our ZBEdge Connected Intelligence Suite, Rosa Hip advances our vision to translate pre-, intra-and post-operative data into actionable clinical insights to inform personalized care decisions," COO Ivan Tornos said.

Rosa Hip is Zimmer Biomet's fourth robotic system in the Rosa portfolio.
