Orthopedic surgeons at White River Medical Center recently completed the hospital's 1,000th joint replacement surgery using Stryker's Mako system, The Jonesboro Sun reported Dec. 30.
The team included J.D. Allen, MD; Jeffery Angel, MD; Dylan Carpenter, MD; and Wes Greer, MD, the report said.
The medical center is one of only three hospitals in the state to reach the milestone and was the first in the region to offer robotic-arm-assisted total knee and partial knee replacements. It was the first hospital in Arkansas to offer total hip replacements with the Mako system.
The hospital is a 224-bed regional referral center.
