North Carolina health system adds robot-assisted joint replacements

Statesville, N.C.-based Iredell Health System became the first hospital in Iredell County to add Stryker's Mako robot for total joint replacements.

Brett Feldman, MD, and Jeffery Reeves, MD, are trained to use the robot for hip and knee replacements, according to a Jan. 3 news release. Dr. Feldman has used the robot in 51 knee replacements and 14 hip replacements.

Mako creates a personalized surgical plan and is designed for increased precision during procedures, according to the release.
