Michigan hospital expands spine program, adds robot

Robotics

Sheridan (Mich.) Community Hospital increased investments in its spinal care and acquired a Mazor X Stealth Edition robot, local news source the Daily News reported June 10.

The robot uses image-based 3D simulation of the patient's spine and analytics to gather preoperative data for better planning and guidance throughout the procedure for better precision, safety and efficiency.

"I use the robot to add a layer of safety and efficiency to my cases. It has become a very reliable tool for me to better help patients," Justin Clark, MD, newly appointed Sheridan neurosurgeon and robotic surgery specialist, told the Daily News.
