Naples, Fla.-based Lee Health has added two orthopedic robots at two hospitals to assist surgeons with hip and knee replacements, Gulfshore Business reported July 6.
The health system installed Zimmer Biomet's Rosa robot at Cape Coral (Fla.) Hospital and Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers.
Rosa features technology that assists surgeons with bone resections and assesses soft tissue to facilitate implant positioning. Surgeons use the robot's navigation technology to control and move surgical instruments, allowing for greater precision and flexibility during surgery.
Since Lee Health established its robotics program last year, it has more than tripled its number of DaVinci robots and also added a neurosurgery robot, according to the report.
