Accentus Medical, a medical technology company based in the UK, singed a license and services agreement with Zimmer Holdings that enables Zimmer to use Accentus' Agluna anti-infective technology on Zimmer products, according to a Zimmer news release.
Zimmer will acquire exclusive global rights to use Agluna for joint reconstruction and trauma products under the agreement. The company also has an 18-month option to acquire exclusive rights for Accentus spine devices, dental implants and sports medicine products.
The two companies will collaborate to gain product approval in Europe and the United States.
