DePuy has launched the fourth generation knee-joint implant, the Sigma CR-150, in India, according to a Sunshine Hospital news release.
This design generation is can help patients with osteoarthritis, prevalent in India, and has been used on western patients as well. This device has an increased level of bone preservation, as it is designed to retain most of the natural bone, tissue and ligaments.
The implant allows flexation up to 150 degrees, which helps patients to complete sporting activities as well as normal activities such as squatting or sitting on the floor.
