Ronceverte, W.Va.-based CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, part of Charleston, W.Va.-based Vandalia Health, has added a new orthopedic robot.
The medical center installed the robot during the last week of December, according to a Dec. 31 press release.
It features a smart mapping system to register 3D models of the joint in surgery, real-time planning for personalized surgery, handheld precision milling and intraoperative gap balancing.
The system's newest orthopedic surgeon Doug Tice, MD, will use the robot to perform hand surgery and hip, knee and shoulder replacements.
