Here are six places adding spine and orthopedic robots in December:
1. Utica, N.Y.-based Wynn Hospital added the Mako SmartRobotics system for hip and knee replacement procedures.
2. Jason Lowenstein, MD, of Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center performed the first surgery using Stryker's Mako Spine System.
3. Monroe, La.-based St. Francis Medical Center has added the ExcelisusGPS robot.
4. Las Vegas-based Southern Hills Hospital has added robotic-assisted technology for spine surgeries.
5. Beaumont-based Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas has added a Mako robot to assist with orthopedic surgeries.
6. Ronceverte, W.Va.-based CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center added a new orthopedic robot.
